"Yesterday, the head of the IDF Logistics Directorate, Maj. Gen. Michel Yanko, told a media briefing that civilians were welcome to donate funds for 'treats' via the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers, but that the army would supply the necessary equipment." - Times of Israel, October 10th, 2023
"The logistics, technology, maintenance and medical units in the IDF are strong, and by virtue of our duties we are focused solely on the war. There are thousands of excellent reservists, NCOs, officers and IDF-employed civilians here, who are working continuously and resolutely to provide an optimal logistical infrastructure for the regular and reserve troops—until victory." - Michel Yanko, October 30th, 2023
“The Yamachim were ready. Does everyone get our best equipment like the recon units? No, we didn’t intend for that,” Maj. Gen. Michel Yanko, head of the IDF Technology and Logistics Directorate, told journalists this week. “The equipment is in accordance with the type of mission, and that’s what we plan for. We did not intend to give all 300,000 [reserve] soldiers ceramic vests. Everyone who will be in combat has a ceramic vest.” - October 10th, 2023
The IDF published on Tuesday the names of fallen soldiers, Master Sergeant (Res.) Nadav Elchanan Knoller and Major (Res.) Eyal Avnion, who were both killed in combat in the Gaza Strip.
The two soldiers served together in the same unit. In early June, Knoller posted on Facebook that after 155 days of service since October 7, his unit was called for further service.
In his post, Knoller asked for help purchasing combat equipment and urged civilians to assist in the war effort, saying, "To assist in the mission and long stay in the (Gaza) Strip, especially during the hot season, our Battalion needs your help."
Knoller further emphasized, "Together, we will continue to act for the sake of our people wherever and whenever we are called. Together, we will prevail!"
